Our coordinating committee consists of representatives from various regions in the world. They are responsible for spearheading projects and facilitating cooperation between various regions and organizations.

Policy Working Group | Israel
Alon Liel
Dr. Alon Liel served as the Director General of Israel’s Ministry of Economy and Planning and of its Ministry for Foreign Affairs. He was the first Israeli ambassador to democratic South Africa.
Alon serves on the Steering Committee of the Policy Working Group (PWG), an Israeli organization advocating for resolution of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict on the basis of two states. He serves on the Board of Ir Amim and the Advisory Council of B’Tselem. He initiated a 2014 diplomatic campaign to advance European recognition of the State of Palestine, which resumed its activities in 2024.

Canada
Dr. Barbara Landau
Barbara is a recipient of the Order of Canada. She co-founded and is the Canadian
representative of J-Link. Barbara is a tireless advocate for human rights and interfaith cooperation. She participated in 3 Compassionate Listening missions to Israel and Palestine, is co-
chair of the Canadian Association of Jews and Muslims (CAJM), co-founder of Together in Hope, a Jewish, Palestinian/Arab women’s dialogue group, and former Board member and Chair of the Shared Society Committee of JSpaceCanada. She is the principal supporter of Heart to Heart Alumni program for Israeli Jewish and Palestinian youth, to build mutual understanding and inspire the next generation of “Ambassadors for Peace”.

Jewish Democratic Initiative | South Africa
Basil Dubb
Basil Dubb lives in Cape Town, South Africa, where he serves on the board of the Jewish Democratic Initiative (JDI), an organization that represents those who believe in the power of strengthening and defending democracy to transform societies, specifically South Africa, Israel and Palestine.

United Kingdom
David Solomon
David lives in London and is active in progressive Jewish causes in the UK. He has a strong commitment to promoting democracy and human rights in Israel/Palestine and in finding paths to a peaceful resolution of the conflict. He is also an academic mathematician working in France and the United States as well as Britain.

JCall | Italy
Giorgio Gomel
Giorgio Gomel is an Italian economist. He has been the head of research and international economics at the Bank of Italy. Giorgio is among the cofounders of JCall, an association of European Jews committed to a peaceful resolution of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict based on two states, and is the President of Alliance for Middle East Peace Europe (ALLMEP), a coalition of Israeli-Palestinian NGOs working cross-border. He was a cofounder of Beth Hillel, a progressive Jewish community in Rome. In addition to professional publications, Giorgio has written extensively on Israel and Jewish affairs.

New Jewish Narrative | USA
Kenneth Bob
Kenneth Bob serves as Global Chair of Brit Etz-World Labor Zionist Alliance, as well as Chair of Rozana USA, which leverages healthcare to foster trust between Israelis and Palestinians, while addressing gaps in the Palestinian healthcare system. He is a member of the Jewish Agency for Israel Board of Governors and sits on its Executive Committee. Ken also serves on the Board of Directors of New Jewish Narrative and J Street and speaks widely on topics of interest regarding Israel and the Jewish community. He divides his time between New York and Jaffa, Israel.

J-Amlat | Latin America
Shlomo Slutzky
Shlomo Slutzky is a reporter, correspondent, human rights advocate, and peace activist. He served as a reporter for Canal 7 Chile and other Latin American channels. Shlomo worked with Clarín as the Israel correspondent from 1995 to 2014. He is a documentary film director and producer, creating films in Israel which have been shown on both Israeli and Latin American television networks.
